(For that matter, the www-validator mailing list is populated by more then a few volunteers, also with no official affiliation to the W3C). The problem you describe is not a validation issue, so this is not an appropriate forum to raise it in. I suggest you try the comp.infosystems.www.authoring.html or alt.html newsgroups, or the mailing list you can find at http://webdesign-l.com/.
