I know this is off validation subject but i did not know where else to post this...

I wish to validate a form with JavaScript , but the name attribute is not allowed in XHTML 1.1.


What is the correct way to validate form fields with JS?

ps js code is window.document.userid.value==''

userid = form field name

does anyone have any example codes?
