Sounds like you are putting the <a> element directly into the <body>. Inline content is now allowed there in Strict DTDs, you need to wrap it in a block element such as <div> or <p>. When I validate my homepage, the code same given by the validator does include a <p> element. Perhaps you missed a bit when you were selecting the text in preparation to hit 'copy'. -- David Dorward http://dorward.me.uk
