Standards

Hi,

I have built my website to XHTML 1.0 Strict standards, and have validated 
the
page (and have to a positive validation)

but for some reason the page does not display properly in IE compared to NS 
and Opera,
Could someone possibly explains to me why please?

If they are supposed to be standards and I have validated it, how come the 
pages are not displayed the same?
