I have the following at the top of a page <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//IT" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html lang="en" xml:lang="it" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title xml:lang="it">Ferrovia Del Vapore Di Telford - Home Page</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="it" /> The page is written with English markup, only the content is in Italian The html, title and meta indicate the content (I think) Should the doctype be IT or EN for correct validation Allan Smith Webmanager Telford Steam Railway
