This is now handled (in version 3.6.2.6 in CVS) as if the base tag didn't exist at all, which is how browsers seem to handle it (checklink is/was already pretty tolerant with bad markup). But if there's nothing to be put into the base href, the tag really shouldn't be there at all. -- \/ille Skyttä ville.skytta at iki.fi
