Bug ID: 24559
Summary: table="border" is conforming because a change proposal
placed it back into the spec (long ago)
Product: Nu Markup Checker
Version: unspecified
Hardware: PC
URL: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-validator/2014
Feb/0012.html
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: General
Assignee: mike+validator@w3.org
Reporter: xn--mlform-iua@xn--mlform-iua.no
QA Contact: www-validator-cvs@w3.org
A user notified the www-validator@ that NU validator has stopped accepting the
border attribute for the table element and questioned the new behavior.
The user is correct because:
> The answer is that @border is conforming in HTML5 and that the validator
> has a bug if it does not allow it. There was a change proposal process to
> have @border added back into the spec, and the CP prevailed.
