https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=23716 Bug ID: 23716 Summary: online link checker has unpublished limit of number of links checked on a page? Product: LinkChecker Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: documentation Assignee: dave.null@w3.org Reporter: gepearson2002@yahoo.com QA Contact: www-validator-cvs@w3.org On a web page with 586 links (!), only 132 were checked. Though I use link checker every few months to check this page, someone just pointed out to me that the page had a number of bad links. The w3 checker missed most of them, but another free checker found them. I determined the number checked by w3 by counting the "checking" entries in the scrolling results window. So this is EITHER a bug in link checker OR a failure of the link checker web page to announce there is a limit on the number of checked links. Unfortunately, this problem means that for YEARS I have had a web page with many bad links of which I was unaware. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the QA Contact for the bug.
