Summary: The Bug 6151 is back
Product: Validator
Version: HEAD
Platform: PC
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: check
AssignedTo: dave.null@w3.org
ReportedBy: jbutters@cottoninc.com
QAContact: www-validator-cvs@w3.org
In the process of revalidating pages for a school project I encountered the
error “end of document in prolog” The description of the error stated that is
may have been due to the validator receiving an empty document. The location
of the error was at the opening of the document declaration statement. When I
pushed the revalidate button the page validated using the XHTML 1.0 strict
code. I did research on this error within the W3C site and fond the Bug 6151
that is the same as the one I encountered today (10/28/11). I did not encounter
this type of error when I was developing the web site and validating the pages
as I put them together. I have attached screen captures of the error, and of
the same page revalidating a few seconds later when the revalidate button was
pushed. I am using windows 7 OS. If you have any questions please feel free to
contact me.
Thank you,
Joe Butters
