http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=5222 Summary: Page is valid from upload or copy/paste but not valid from link Product: Validator Version: HEAD Platform: PC URL: http://www.sunflowertherapies.net/links/videolinks/shine video.html OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Parser AssignedTo: dave.null@w3.org ReportedBy: sjrw@sunflowertherapies.net QAContact: www-validator-cvs@w3.org >From link it says the code is invalid: This page is not Valid (no Doctype found)! No Character Encoding Found! Falling back to UTF-8. Unable to Determine Parse Mode! Line 1, Column 0: end of document in prolog. But on upload it changes to a valid page: The uploaded document "C:\wamp\www\links\videolinks\shinevideo.html" was checked and found to be valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional. This means that the resource in question identified itself as "XHTML 1.0 Transitional" and that we successfully performed a formal validation using an SGML or XML Parser (depending on the markup language used). ** I have a few pages with the same code in the same folder and same happens. All other pages on my site will validate from a link.
