http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=785 Summary: validator does not supply reasonable Accept header by default Product: Validator Version: 0.7.0 Platform: Other OS/Version: other Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: check AssignedTo: link@pobox.com ReportedBy: john@neggie.net QAContact: www-validator-cvs@w3.org By default, the validator should request resources as if it were an HTML browser. That means placing weight on HTML types such as text/html and application/xhtml+xml in the Accept header. Bug #18 is not a solution to this problem. Most users don't use the advanced validator, and most users are expecting the validator to retrieve documents just like their standard-conforming browser. (Yes, IE is not in this group.) ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug, or are watching the QA contact.
