Changes:

First, I would like to thank all contributors, mostly on translations for
this release (and more is needed as I keep introducing some new errors and
warnings).

The main change is support for CSS3 background and borders and
Multi-column layout

* CSS Multi-column Layout Module
   http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/CR-css3-multicol-20110412/
* CSS Backgrounds and Borders Module Level 3
   http://www.w3.org/TR/2012/CR-css3-background-20120417/
* Reverted the HTML parser from the validator.nu's HTML5 parser
back to TagSoup for stability reasons.
* CSS3 is now the default CSS level selected, to reflect what
Web authors are using today. The usual W3C Recommendation-based
levels are of course still available.
* ... and lots of other small bug fixes, many left...

The CSS validator is a free, open source tools which relies on *us*, the
Web community, to survive and get better. Many thanks are due to the many
users, translators, bug reporters, patch contributors, and bearers of good
ideas that made this release possible - some (but not all) of whom are
listed in:
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/thanks.html

Beyond the great effort provided by the community, a lot of the burden of
making this free tool falls on the W3C. Hosting and bandwidth are fairly
heavy for these popular services, and as you can see above, coding does
take up quite some time, too. If you use the validator frequently, rely on
in in your company, or want to show your support for good, free open
source tools, please consider making a donation, or become a sponsor:
