Notepad in Microsoft Windows XP includes a byte-order mark (BOM) at the beginning of files saved in UTF-8 encoding. If such files are run through the CSS validator, the validator says, for example: Target: http://www-personal.umich.edu/~kshawkin/talks/20050513.ru.html Please, validate your XML document first! Line 1 Column 1 Content is not allowed in prolog. I believe this content is allowed in the prolog; if not, the XHTML validator should alert users to this (it currently does not). Kevin
