I am sorry, if this is already known (I am not subscribed).
For valid documens, the Validator offers a HTML code for displaying the 
"Valid CSS" icon. But this code is not valid XHTML 1.x, because the 
<img> tag is not closed. I think the CSS-Validator should also promote 
valid XHTML.
