validation anomaly

I have a file at http://shrike.depaul.edu/~cewert/css1-4.html which I use
to lecture on css.  It validates as OK when I use the URI, but if I copy
and paste it into the textarea validation it gets a parse error when the
style tag is found.
This is in the css validator.
