The Cathedral and the Bazaar

I think many people here will already be familiar with this :-

Amongst other things, Netscape cite it as the reason (or one of their
reasons ;-) for their decision to release source :-

I'm afraid that by (to all intents and purposes) taking the Cathedral
approach with the design of HTTP-NG, the W3C is doing a Bad Thing.
But... let's leave the W3C and its members to decide that.

This doesn't preclude the WWW community from doing its own thing.  By 
giving away their browser source, Netscape are handing us one half of 
what we need.  Apache is the other half, and we have that already :-)
