Heh, another quote easy to take badly out of context :). Of course documenting reality is a good first step, but indeed not what you put in specs. Prescriptive vs. descriptive, etc. (That said, putting test results that "document reality" in the margins of specs would be pretty sweet, similar to what HTML and some CSS specs do.)
