3. Followup on TPAC Meetings with HTML Working Group
+ Background:
o TAG met with W3C HTML Working Group on Thursday 5
November
o [14]Discussion Topics for HTML / TAG working group
meeting at TPAC 2009
o [15]Prioritized list of HTML-related issues,
originally developed at Sept. 2009 F2F. (An Open
Document Format [16].ods version and an Excel [17].xls
version are also available.)
o [18]ACTION-326: track HTML WG progress on their bug
8154 on polyglot documents - on Henry Due: 2009-12-05
+ Goals:
o Review progress from joint TPAC session
o The TAG went into the meeting with concerns in three
areas:
1. Language on use of XML with text/html media type
2. Whether microdata should be retained in the HTML
5 Recommendation (note that, at the 6 November
TPAC session the TAG filed the TAG is
[19]http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id
=8220 requesting the removal of Microdata)
3. Whether data-* attributes should be retained in
the HTML 5 Recommendation
Decide whether we are satisfied with the plans we
heard at the F2F.
o Are there any further concerns regarding the
re-registration of the text/html media type?
o How if at all does the TAG want to track/influence
decisions regarding decentralized extensibility,
namespaces, etc. in HTML 5? (note that we had what
seemed to be inconclusive discussion at the 6 November
F2F wrapup -- minutes not yet available.)
o Decide whether the TAG wants to plan more work on HTML
5 at this time (we will probably revisit at the F2F in
any case)
4. Planning the Dec. 2009 F2F

status ahead of our call if possible.
