There appears to have been some confusion on the most recent TAG telecon about the maturity of the WAI-ARIA work. <quote cite="http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/2008/05/01-minutes#item05"> TBL: This is the first working draft? HT: Yes. DC: Well, but there were precursor drafts that were later sliced into different pieces. </quote> PFWG is working to release a Last Call draft of the WAI-ARIA specification <http://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria/> in a month or so. The fourth of four major browsers has started work on implementation. http://mail.gnome.org/archives/desktop-devel-list/2008-April/ msg00225.html The "first public working draft" status of the present TR draft is a misleading technicality. The present document is only brand new in that it subsumes what had been through earlier public working drafts in separate documents. We also look forward to having a public Editor's draft in a week or two to aid in coordination down to the wire. Al
