Although we established public-xml-versioning@w3.org precisely so we
wouldn't have to bother www-tag with daily discussions of the minutia of
versioning, the attached post [1] from Hoylen Sue may be of general
interest. FYI: the schema WG has for more than a year been trying to
characterize in detail use cases related to versioning of XML
vocabularies. David Orchard has been doing some related work, largely in
the context of the TAG. David has gratiously agreed to integrate some of
the use cases he developed into the tracking framework used by the Schema
WG. Hoylen's email is announcing the availability of a draft that
includes Dave's use cases.

A new draft of the the "XML Schema Versioning Use Cases"
document is now available at:

This release includes several Web services related use cases
