In the long run, I think it's easier to make a URNs retrievable than it is to make HTTP URLs permanent, and that the W3C should stop trying to make an anti-URN policy. For people who don't want to or can't commit to maintaining a permanent web resource in perpetuity, URNs may be a better choice. So explain the advantages and disadvantages, and move on.
