The XML Core WG discussed this on today's telcon. Our answer to the TAG question about urgency is that we are holding up our request for CR for Namespaces in XML 1.1 until we hear back from the TAG on this issue. After we hear back, it will still take us a couple more weeks to finish up responding to commentors and editing DoCs before we can submit our request for CR. Being as we want the CR period to end mid-February in parallel with the CR for XML 1.1, we would really like to have the CR period start before the end of the year. Considering AC meetings, US Thanksgiving, and end-of-year holidays, the sooner we hear back from the TAG, the more likely we will really have a CR out in a timely manner. paul Paul Grosso, Co-chair, XML Core WG
