* What is the state of implementations for WAI ARIA Attributes in SVG2 in every browsers. To the best of my knowledge, this has never been tested methodically, but anecdotally there has been support for quite some time (at least since 2018, and likely before that), but the extent is unknown. My company, TetraLogical, is currently methodically testing screen reader support for HTML elements [1]. When we're done with that, we could turn our attention to ARIA when SVG is the host language though. * If there are up to date tests on WPT to test these features Unfortunately not, no. Writing WPT for accessibility where the accessibility tree is involved is not a simple exercise because browsers typically don't generate the accessibility tree unless an assistive tech like a screen reader is running. With ARIA in particular there's the added complication of needing to evaluate what the screen reader does with the information exposed by the accessibility tree too. It doesn't look like there are any issues with the accessibility label at present, and I realise it's officially out of scope, but if there's room for a conversation about the accessibility features intended as part of SVG2, I'd appreciate it [1]. >> >> [1]https://www.w3.org/TR/SVG2/struct.html#WAIARIAAttributes > > Yes the charter says only maintenance, which is about aligning the spec with what browsers currently do. > > It would be interesting to understand at least > > * What is the state of implementations for WAI ARIA Attributes in SVG2 in every browsers. > * If there are up to date tests on WPT to test these features > > And in return we can better understand if the spec needs to be updated. > > > > -- Léonie Watson (she/her) Director https://tetralogical.com Looking to kick start or refresh your accessibility knowledge?
