Last week the CSS WG has published an updated Working Draft of the CSS Inline Layout Module Level 3: https://www.w3.org/TR/css-inline-3/ This module describes the alignment and sizing of inline-level boxes and text. It also introduces a special layout mode for drop caps and similar initial letter styling. This is another significant update which restructures some of the new features added earlier, pulls in the remainder of the relevant CSS2 (and CSS Writing Modes) prose, restructures the vertical alignment chapter, and integrates all the new features together with the line layout rules. Significant changes from the last two cycles all listed at: https://www.w3.org/TR/2020/WD-css-inline-3-20200618/#changes There remain plenty of open issues, but at this point the draft is substantially complete: now would be a good time for high-level reviews, especially from horizontal working groups other than i18n. (Remaining issues are largely working out layout details and i18n problems.) Please send any comments to the mailing list <www-style@w3.org>, prefixed with [css-inline-3] (as I did on this message) or (preferably) file them in the GitHub repository at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues For the CSS WG, ~fantasai
