RE: Article about SVG 2 in InfoWorld

I read it is inaccurate. The article says 
" while SMIL was replaced by declarative animation in CSS or scripted animation."

It wasn't "replaced by" declarative animation in CSS since that would be sort of like saying transatlantic air travel has been replaced by steamships. I like a good steamship, btw.

The use of "replaced by" in that sentence, at least in my idiolect of English, renders the sentence either misleading or false.
