Hi, attached is my attempt at creating a testcase showing that altGlyph is not working for non-SVG font formats. To the best of my knowledge this has not been implemented in any viewer/browser. I've tested this in Firefox Nightly, Chrome Canary and Opera 12 (Presto) and none of them found the proper altGlyph. I haven't tested it in IE yet, but I suspect that it will fail there too, especially given that the documentation says altGlyph isn't supported[3]. Given that we have already removed SVG Fonts from SVG2 and given that altGlyph is effectively useless without SVG Fonts, I'd like to propose that we also drop altGlyph, altGlyphDef, altGlyphItem and glyphRef from SVG2. Thoughts?
