One issue with any approach to SVG glyphs that someone brought up on my blog is that SVG doesn't support any kind of hinting so it'll probably be difficult to create SVG glyphs that look good at low resolutions. I don't really have any ideas on how to solve this. I hope someone in the WG does :-).
