Ok, now I am confused as never before in my life :D

I have functions that take two input images and blend
them with the chose mode. For some reason, my results
are darker than Photoshop's and also GIMP's. But that happens
only when I use alpha with other values than exactly 0 or 1.

Just to restate my question, because the conversation went
some other way I guess :D
