Dear members of SVG Working Group, I am writing this message on behalf of EXI (Efficient XML Interchange) WG. As part of the effort we plan to make this year in order to apply EXI to more areas constituting the Web, some members of our WG has shown interest in seeing EXI be better integrated into the way SVG is defined. After looking around for any existing such efforts, we were informed of ISSUE-2050 [1] that seems to suggest there has been similar interest within SVG WG itself as well. It looks as though, however, that the issue has not been given much attention since its creation. We would like to know if the issue is still considered valid within SVG WG, and if so, there is any plan to revisit the issue in the near future. The EXI WG would like to move the issue that is well described in [1] forward, however, we do not want to make an overlapped effort inadvertently. It would be ideal if the two WG can make a concerted efforts toward the same goal. Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to hearing back from you soon.
