Patrick, 1.) I think that SVGElementInstances is just for use elements. 2) http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG/interact.html#PointerEventsProperty should be more explicit about markers. The marker could be filled when the element isn't and vice versa so when it talks about fill it is clearly talking about just the element itself so by inference it seems that marker rendering should be excluded from consideration. Are you convinced? I'm not sure I am. Best regards Robert.
