[1.2T LC] font-variant in SVGT1.2 and SVG1.1

Hello SVG WG,

in '10.9 Font selection properties' of SVGT1.2 
font-variant is indicated to be not animatable,
in '10.10 Font selection properties' of SVG1.1
it is indicated to be animatable.
Is this a specific restriction for the tiny profile
or why was this change/ backwards inconsistency 
introduced? Or are there specific problems with the
animation of font-variant for mobile phones?
