Yes, in standalone SVGT 1.2 documents

As stated several times now, the attributeType is purely to disambiguate
in the case of a clash where there is a property of a given name (but
not expressed as an attribute) and an attribute of the same name.


It does *not*, as you seem to assume, also mean an entirely different
lexical space.

That is incorrect, and not a position that is derivable from the
specification. Properties expressed as attributes can of course use
scientific notation.
