RE: SVG12: preserveAspectRatio='... meet' should be allowed

Bjoern,
If you are suggesting that the following sentence be removed:

This is also the default value and therefore it is recommended
that content do not specify this parameter since it adds no
  additional value.

Then I agree. This sentence is superfluous. User agents must support the keyword "meet" and it is legal for content to use it. What good does it do to recommend that content developers not use the keyword? It's just a wasted sentence in the spec.

Jon

Subject: SVG12: preserveAspectRatio='... meet' should be allowed

Dear Scalable Vector Graphics Working Group,

  http://www.w3.org/TR/2005/WD-SVGMobile12-20051207/coords.html
section 7.9 notes for the preserveAspectRatio attribute

The <meet> parameter is optional and is only available due to
historical reasons. The <meet> is separated from the <align>
value by one or more spaces and must equal the string meet.
This is also the default value and therefore it is recommended
that content do not specify this parameter since it adds no
  additional value.

Interoperability seems unaffected by specification of this default value
and the specification does not require strictly conforming content to
omit the default value for other attributes, I therefore think it is not
correct to prohibit use of 'meet' in strictly conforming content and
would kindly request this requirement to be removed from the draft.

regards,
