> the browser vendors did not care about SVG 1.0 when it was released, And the reason for this is probably that the authors of the time didn't care about them, which, in turn, is probably because few really understood the concept of vector graphics (many still get JPEG and GIF uses mixed). That tends to indicate that: 1) technologies for general web authors need to be very easy to learn; 2) that the real effort needs to go into user education. (Actually there is a Windows Update plugin for Vector Markup Language for IE, but the development of SVG will have discouraged vector aware authors, from learning it, and third party browser developers from developing support for it).
