Jonathan, These are indeed very important issues for everyone. I am not convinced the problems are on the SVG specs side though. Macromedia started to make its Flash environment accessible by improving its viewer and its authoring tool. I believe this is the correct way. On the viewer side, it seems Adobe understand the issues and is already working at solving them: http://www.adobe.com/svg/workflow/accessibility.html On the authoring tool side, we have already started to implement the required features to provide our users with an easy way to provide accessible content. I suspect other software vendors will do the same. Working at the accessibility of the authoring tools is another story and is a much more difficult problem. Hopefully, the first and most important step is to create the environment to allow the creation of accessible content, and this is on the way. Thank you for your effort in reminding everybody that in order to create a better Web, we first need to make it accessible to everybody.
