What is a <name>?

Hi,

  SVG 1.0/1.1/1.2 and CSS 3 Color reference a symbol <name> (e.g. for
the color-profile property) but I've been unable to figure out what a
<name> is at the syntax level. Is it an <identifier> or a <string> or
something else?
