Many of us at Adobe were fortunate to be given a short holiday between Christmas
and New Year's which is why we've been somewhat scarce around here lately.
However...

I'm glad to announce that the second public beta release of Adobe SVG Viewer 2.0
is now available at:
http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/beta.html (temporarily English only)

This beta includes support for much more of the August 2, 2000 SVG Candidate
Recommendation. For details of what is in this release, see
http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/pdfs/betacurrentsupport.pdf.

You can find the Windows release notes at:
http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/pdfs/betawinviewer.pdf and Macintosh
release notes at http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/pdfs/betamacviewer.pdf.

Keep in mind that this is beta software. We feel that is is of good quality and
will be very useful to SVG developers because of the additional feature support
we've added including some enhancements to performance. We strongly encourage
SVG developers to test it against your own SVG. Now that there is such a healthy
community of people developing a wide range of content, it is becoming more
difficult for us to create our own test cases for every possible circumstance,
duplicate every environment, etc. so we welcome your feedback and test cases
when content does not display as you expect it to. Test cases are always
helpful.

Unfortunately, we can't promise to respond directly to every question, but as
all of you who are active here and on the other SVG forums know, the SVG
Engineering and Marketing teams at Adobe are very attentive to the needs and
we'll do our best. It would be even more helpful to us if would give us bug
reports (http://www.adobe.com/svg/feedback/bugreport.html) and feedback
(http://www.adobe.com/svg/feedback/feedback.html) using the previously mentioned
web forms. If you do send us feedback through the web forms but also post a
question to here, it would be helpful if you mentioned that so we can avoid
duplication of bug reports.

Over the next several months we will be doing a series of releases and will
always keep this group updated when they come out.

Continued success to everyone!
