Adobe has posted our beta1 release of the Adobe® SVG Viewer at: http://beta1.adobe.com/svgpreview_alpha/SVG/download/download.html You can find updates to the Adobe SVG Technology Preview at: http://beta1.adobe.com/svgpreview_alpha/SVG/main.html WHAT'S NEW ======================================= * This release attempts to conform with the latest SVG draft Specification (3/3/00), and to various other implementations of SVG. For a complete list of supported features, go to: http://beta1.adobe.com/svgpreview_alpha/SVG/documentation/DocContent/currentsupp ort.html * This beta now includes an auto-update function. When a new version of the Adobe SVG Viewer is available on Adobe.com, a dialog will occasionally offer to automatically install it for you. * New Viewers now have expanded contextual menus (right-click on PCs, ctrl-click on Macs) with features such as: search for text strings in your image, and view and copy SVG source code. For this reason, the "view source" links that accompanied all SVG images in this site have been removed. * New converters now export any Type 1 and most TrueType fonts. (Please note, you will need to re-export any .cef files generated by previous builds in order to comply with the new Viewer specs). * Note that the MIME type for SVG has changed to "image/svg-xml" to conform to the W3C's general scheme for XML MIME types. You will need to update the MIME type on your servers, and you must install the new Viewer in order to view the updated content in this Beta Release. HOW TO INSTALL THE ADOBE SVG VIEWER ======================================= 1. Before installing, please close any application which you have used to view SVG with an old version of the viewer. 2. Execute the downloaded file. You can find additional information in the README files at: http://beta1.adobe.com/svgpreview_alpha/SVG/documentation/releasenotes.html Please let me know if you have any questions. ...............................
