Dear SVG users, the latest update to our SVG Viewer, 0.3b, is now available for download at our alphaWorks website. We have made several updates with this release including a new, user configurable, progressive rendering feature that let's you watch large files being incrementally rendered rather than waiting for the whole image to be ready. The use can customize the delay between updates and the delay before any updates appear. Several bug fixes in this release and some enhancements including gradient and pattern filled text support and some initial support for symbols and the <use> element. SVGView now comes with about 100 fully annotated SVG sample files. Also, check out the new startup screen to see some of these engancements in action. Thanks as always to those of you that sent us e-mail or sent us suggestions on our SVGView discussion board at alphaWorks. Many of your suggestions and requests for features have set the priority for things we have worked on. Please checkout the readme file (readmesv.txt) for extensive details of the new features and lots of other useful information. Thanks for your time and please keep the suggestions and feedback coming. Kelvin. Kelvin R. Lawrence IBM Emerging Technologies Team
