We are proud to announce the release of Ambulant Player 2.6, more that 2 years after the last official release (2.4). Ambulant is a multimedia playback engine, primarily meant to play SMIL 3.0 documents. Available as desktop player for Windows 7 or newer, MacOSX 10.7 or newer, PPA for Ubuntu 14.04. Browser plugins for those platforms are also available. And, of course, Ambulant is open source so there is also a source distribution. Ambulant is embeddable and extendable using either C++ or Python. Contact us if you want to try Ambulant on iOS. Visit http://www.ambulantplayer.org to download the new release. This release is primarily a wrap up of bug fixes made over the last years, and an update to recent versions of various 3rd party packages (SDL 2, GTK 3). If you incorporate Ambulant in your own software or workflow there are a few notable new goodies: - A recorder plugin interface allowing you to grab the visual output and post-process it - SDL renderers - Support for low-delay RTP audio and video streams (conferencing) - Preliminary support for using Ambulant on Android -- Jack Jansen, <Jack.Jansen@cwi.nl>, http://www.cwi.nl/~jack If I can't dance I don't want to be part of your revolution -- Emma Goldman
