MMM2001 - The 8th International Conference on Multimedia Modeling November 5-7, 2001 CWI, Amsterdam, The Netherlands Call for Papers CWI, The Dutch National Center for Mathematics and Computer Science, is pleased to announce The Eight International Conference on Multimedia Modeling (MMM2001), to be held on November 5th though 7th in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. MMM2001 will continue the MMM series' exploration of models and abstractions for multimedia creation, representation, storage, delivery, processing, presentation and final interface. This year's foci will be on authoring and creation, standards, intelligent delivery and presentation, and the recent (re-)introduction in the field of semantic models for multimedia and for the Web. Topics and Areas Scientific and technical papers are solicited in the following areas related to multimedia modeling technologies and applications (but are not limited to). Submitted papers will be reviewed by an international program committee. Authoring * Authoring tool of multimedia information * Authoring tool of adaptable/adaptive multimedia information * Automatic generation of multimedia documents * Authoring based on Templates/Style Sheets * Authoring tool of 3D animations * Collaborative authoring tool * Constraint techniques for multimedia authoring tool Presentation * Presentation of distributed Multimedia Information * Presentation of Adaptative Multimedia Information * Content Negotiation of Multimedia information * Presentation of Multimedia Information on mobile devices * Accessibility of multimedia information Multimedia Standards and Models * Standards impacts * Standards convergence * Requirements and development of standards * Multimedia/hypermedia Models Semantic models for multimedia and for the Web * multimedia annotations * metadata for multimedia document * authoring and visualization of metadata Multimedia Modeling of Real World Scenarios * Model-based Graphics, Video, Vision and Virtual Reality * Simulation Formal Methods and multimedia information * Formal supports for Multimedia Models * Formal verification of spatio/temporal integrity of multimedia documents Multimedia databases * Indexing, searching, querying and retrieving media * Annotating and archiving media * Semantic annotations in media databases * Content recognition and understanding of multimedia data Important Dates Submissions due: 20 May, 2001 Notice of Acceptance: 10 July, 2001 Camera-ready Paper due: 20 August, 2001 Conference: 5-7 November, 2001 Instructions for Authors Authors are invited to submit full papers of about 6,000 words.
