Interaction with the user?

Hi there,

I just went through the SMIL tutorial and would like to know, if there's
any way to interact with the user. Instead of (begin), (end) and (2s) I
would call it usefull to have something like (click id(another_id)), to
start a media because the user clicked on e.g. a button.

All I read up to now makes me think of SMIL to be a toll for creating
self-running demos. Is this right?
