Topics of interest of include, but are not limited to:

Foundations of Ontologies:

- Ontology languages and tools
- Design and Engineering of top-level and domain ontologies
- Merging, mapping, adapting and translating ontologies
- Reasoning Support for Ontology Specifications


Information Sharing with Ontologies:

- Semantic Annotations, Extensions of XML and RDF
- Ontology-based search and retrieval of information
- Integration of heterogeneous and weakly-structured information
- Semantic interoperability between information systems


Applications and Products:

- Reports on experiences using existing large-scale ontologies
- Intelligent middleware components and information brokers
- Product data modeling and intelligent marketplaces
- Knowledge management solutions for large organizations


Contributions to the workshop can be made in terms of technical papers or
statements of interest.
Statements of interest should not exceed 3 Pages and shoul be handled
according to the guidelines for
technical papers. Please make clear if your paper is meant to be a statement
of interest.

Technical Papers should be formated according to the IJCAI style which is
available from the main
conference site and must not exceed 12 papes. In order to submit a paper,
the link to a PDF or Postcript
version of the paper should be send to heiner@tzi.de. Please indicate,
whether you want to
present you paper in the joint session "Ontologies and e-commerce systems"
with the E-Business and the
Intelligent Web" Workshop.
