IEEE ICDM 2017 Final Call for Participation

You are invited to attend the 17th IEEE International Conference on Data
Mining (ICDM 2017) which will be held in New Orleans, LA, on November 18
through 21, 2017. Now in its seventeenth year, ICDM has established itself
as the world's premier research conference in data mining. ICDM provides a
leading forum for presentation of original research results as well as
exchange and dissemination of innovative and practical development
experiences.

The conference features 3 keynotes:
KEYNOTE 1: Reasoning on Learned Data
by, Leslie Valiant, T. Jefferson Coolidge Professor of Computer Science and
Applied Mathematics, Harvard University

KEYNOTE 2: Connecting the Dots: Data-Driven Self Learning for Knowledge
Discovery
by Aidong Zhang, Distinguished Professor, State University of New York at
Buffalo

KEYNOTE 3: Big Data Software: What Is Next?
by Michael J. Franklin, Liew Family Chair of Computer Science, University
of Chicago

There will be 3 tutorials during the conference:

TUTORIAL 1: Challenges and Solutions in Group Recommender Systems,
by Ludovico Boratto

TUTORIAL 2: Mining Misinformation in Social Media: Understanding Its
Rampant Spread, Harm, and Intervention
by Liang Wu, Giovanni Luca Ciampaglia , Filippo Menczer, Huan Liu

TUTORIAL 3: Mining Cohorts & Patient Data: Challenges and Solutions for the
Pre-Mining, the Mining and the Post-Mining Phases
by Panagiotis Papapetrou, Myra Spiliopoulou

The conference also features 13 full-day workshops and 13 half-day
workshops (details here:

VENUE & ACCOMMODATIONS: The conference will be held in the Roosevelt New
Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Louisiana. Located in the Central
Business District, the Roosevelt New Orleans is a five star hotel that
boasts a rooftop pool, Waldorf Astoria Spa and legendary Sazerac Bar. The
hotel confirms the special conference rate of $185 per night with free

TRAVEL: New Orleans is served by Louis Armstrong New Orleans International
Airport (MSY) which is 11 miles west of downtown New Orleans. The airport
is served by major legacy airlines through their hubs such as American
Airlines in Dallas (DFW) and Miami (MIA), Delta Airlines in Atlanta (ATL)
and United Airlines in Houston (IAH). Flat taxi rates from the airport are
$33.00 for up to 2 passengers and $14.00 per passenger for 3 people and up.
The airport is also serviced by shuttles to hotels and other locations for
$24.00 per person. Public transportation is also provided by Jefferson
Transit (JET) through Airport-Downtown Express (E2) Bus for a fare of
$2.00. The Regional Transit Authority also runs an Airport Express (202)
between New Orleans and departure terminal at the Airport.
