Semantic Web job openings at Carnegie Mellon University

The Mobile Commerce Lab at Carnegie Mellon University has two openings in
the area
of the Semantic Web, one for a project leader and one for a
(senior)research programmer.
The successful candidates will work on a research initiative aimed at
reconciling
privacy and context-awareness in the context of enterprise and consumer
oriented scenarios.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the research agenda of a key
research project
in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon.

The ideal candidates will have strong written and verbal communication skills
along with extensive programming experience. The project leader position
also requires
a PhD in computer science. Applicants for the (senior) research programmer
are expected
to have a Master's degree in computer science or equivalent.

The positions require familiarity with at least three of the following
research areas:
* Semantic Web technologies
* Intelligent Agents
* Web Services
* Web Security

Exposure to case-based reasoning or other learning techniques and/or
interest in privacy
and pervasive computing would be a major plus.

The initial appointments are for one year with option of renewal for one or
more years.
The start date is negotiable and can be anytime during the Spring or Summer
of 2004.

Carnegie Mellon offers competitive salaries and benefits.

Interested candidates should forward their resume along with the names of 3
