Semantic technology is making its way from academia to the enterprise. Businesses are beginning to discover enterprise ontologies, semantic data management, semantic integration of web services, and other similar areas. The latest issue of Release 1.0, titled "Models and Consequences", explores some of these domains. Highlighted in Release 1.0 is SemanticWorld.org, a young open community portal focused on the application of semantic technology in business. Now there is a good source of information on semantics and business. The site features news of projects, standards, conferences, and publications. It has analysis, resources, reference, and discussion. It gives you the opportunity to share your ideas, ask questions and find others with similar interests. Want to learn about Semantics? Know something that the business world needs to know? Come visit SemanticWorld.org - The Data Semantics Community. Eli Israel http://SemanticWorld.org P.S. We're beginning an open modeling project; let me know if you’re interested.
