I think that Kant & particle physicists could use KR to express their view of reality. You are correct in observing that I share Ayn Rand's view of reality. I use her definitions of unit (individual) and concept (class). I developed my own definitions of actions and propositions and context. I designed the hierarchy/lattice structures to support knowledge representation & logic. I integrated the UNIX shell concepts of variables, methods & control structures into KR. ============ Dick McCullough knowledge := man do identify od existent done knowledge haspart proposition list ----- Original Message ----- From: Jon Hanna To: 'RDF-Interest' Sent: Thursday, December 12, 2002 5:58 AM Subject: RE: facts of reality, context, possible worlds > Kant and some particle physicists claim that > consciousness creates reality -- i.e., that > their mathematical models ARE reality, and > that experimental measurements are only > approximations of that reality. I say that > experimental measurements ARE reality, and > mathematical models are only approximations > of that reality. I prefer the idea of giving Kant, particle physicists, yourself and Ayn Rand the tools they need to express their differing opinions about reality and then let them battle it out rather than creating a tool out of a single view of reality.
