The Knowledge Management Group of Prof. Dr. Rudi Studer, Institute AIFB, University of Karlsruhe (Germany) seeks applicants for a Ph.D. Position for a project in the context of the DARPA DAML project (DARPA Agent Markup Language). The project will be carried out in cooperation with Stanford University. The project will address the development of an infrastructure for intelligent Web agents, in particular the semi-automatic provisioning of metadata with information extraction methods. In essence, the project´s ultimate goal is the development of methods and tools to establish the Semantic Web. The prospective student is expected to hold a master's degree or equivalent degree (e.g. German diploma). The salary amounts to German BAT IIa (which is roughly 35.000 Euro gross income per year depending on age and marital status). Candidates are expected to apply for the position before June, 24 2000.
