Hi team, Andy and I just had a bit of a discussion about person schemas. Andy has been working on VRA / Artstor, and he would like to have a Person object as previously discussed. He suggests the best way to do this would be to create a person schema associated with a new (person) namespace rather than adding these elements to the Artstor namespace. Of course, librarians do effectively have a number of person schemas already, e.g. the Library of Congress Authority file http://authorities.loc.gov/ and the Getty ULAN http://www.getty.edu/research/conducting_research/vocabularies/ulan/ For example, try searching on Leonardo da Vinci in these two sources http://authorities.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?AuthRecID=491415&v1=1&HC=1& SEQ=20031013132226&PID=5014 or in labelled format http://authorities.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?AuthRecID=491415&v2=1&HC=1& SEQ=20031013132230&PID=5014 http://webapps.getty.edu/vow/ULANFullDisplay?find=leonardo+da+vinci&role=art ist&nation=italian&prev_page=1&english=N&subjectid=500010879 Dr Mark H.
