Hi Steve - The major database vendors stand to lose much more than they have to gain, so they'll be extremely careful. budget alternative. The upcoming Oracle web server may be the best hope for a cheap database-oriented alternative. Does anyone know what the functionality and price range will be? On Thu, 21 Mar 1996, Steve A. These prices are reasonable, even though they are ridiculously high-margin for the vendors. The price range in the pc world is much lower, but pc's are still questionable as database servers. --- Luke Gonze --- luke@applix.com --- --- Software Engineer, Applix Espresso project ---
